About

Nelly Nguyen was born in Hochiminh City, Vietnam.

In 2007, she graduated from a BA in Visual Communication. She worked as graphic designer in Singapore and Vietnam before turning to photography as a new path in her career.

In 2012, she received a Diploma in Photography from the Arts University College at Bournemouth, UK, passing with Double Distinction and achieving the Outstanding Student Award.

In 2013, she was a finalist at the Association of Photographers UK Open Awards.

In 2019, she was one of 15 artists from Vietnam, Thailand, Bangladesh, China and the UK featured in The Factory and Inlen Photo Gallery exhibition “Machine is Nature”. The exhibition was held from 22 Feb 2019 to 21 April 2019.

In 2022, Nelly was one of the artists chosen by Mercedes Benz Vietnam to create artwork for the new C – Class launch event

Nelly’s work concentrates mostly on portrait, food and still life with simple, intrigued visual whilst retaining personal view and the intimacy and honesty of portraiture. She never stops seeking inspiration and exploring new photographic techniques, and takes every chance to travel and shoot.
